Grade 9

  • Research schools in Division I, II, III, NAIA, and NJCAA. There are 900+ options for men and 750+ for women across all divisions

  • Get to know the NCAA recruiting rules and contact dates

  • Play in events to establish a Junior Golf Scoreboard (JGS) ranking, American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) or World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR)

Grade 10

  • Hire professionals to assist your child (Golf Globally, golf professionals, fitness professionals, SAT/ACT prep tutors, etc.)

  • Email coaches with your resume and swing video

  • Take the ACT/SAT (prepare to take it more than once)

  • Play in summer events and sign up for camps

Grade 11

  • Register with the NCAA Eligibility Center

  • Take official and unofficial campus visits to your top university choices

  • International Students: take the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language)

  • Select your “best fit” from an academic, athletic, and personal perspective

Grade 12

  • Sign your National Letter of Intent (NLI) in November

  • Submit your college application by the deadlines

  • Finalize NCAA Clearinghouse requirements (e.g. proof of amateurism, high school transcripts)

  • International students: Register for an I-20 Visa to study in the USA
